"Sumi-e " the Japanese beauty

Sumi-e means black ink painting (sumi 墨 = black ink, e 絵 = painting). 

Sumi-e or traditional East Asian brush painting is an ancient art form which is about capturing the essence/spirit of an object, the nature or a person as seen through the eyes of the painter. 

It is meditative technique for brush painting heavily influenced by Taoism and especially Zen Buddhism.
