Neslihan is a maker, performer and painter based in Amsterdam.

Neslihan Kaymak is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans physical performance, painting, and sound. With a background in biology and a degree in text-based acting from Kadir Has University, she worked professionally as an actress before shifting toward a more body-centered practice. She is currently in her third year of Mime studies at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

Neslihan is also a dedicated sumi-e artist, drawing from meditative ink traditions to explore the emotional language of form and gesture. Her paintings have been exhibited in Japan and across Europe. In her performance work, she often integrates voice and sound—creating layered, intuitive compositions that blur the lines between disciplines.

She has collaborated with both local and international theatre collectives and directors, while also presenting her own original works. Her practice is in general rooted in sensitivity to the body, memory, and the poetic resonance of presence.

Currently her practice and works specifically are grounded in intuitive processes drawing strength from ancestral knowledge and collective experience, Neslihan’s practice seeks to give form to what is often unspoken — the emotions, memories, and energies carried in the body and passed down through generations. Working across performance, visual art, and sound, she investigates how personal and shared histories intertwine through embodied expression.
